The Spaces In 2006, groups working with young people were invited to submit their ideas for an environmental project. The 70 best initiatives were then picked to receive funding to bring the ideas to life.
We have continued to focus our work in local schools on issues faced by the community from anti social behaviour. There has been a focus on the negative impact of graffiti and litter in local community spaces. We have involved young people in cleaning up local parks and this has helped young people to be seen in doing something positive for the local area.
Community Space Challenge is funded by the The Big Lottery Fund and The Social Investment Business
and is managed by Catch22, the national charity that helps young people out of difficult situations.
